Prevent theft of charging cables

Voltra Anti-theft protection for charging cables

The rapid growth of EV infrastructure has a downside: cable theft. With copper prices hovering around €11,000 per tonne, charging cables are a sought-after target. But the ratio is off: a theft yields only €40 in scrap value, but quickly costs the operator more than €5,000 per incident through repairs, replacement and an average of two weeks of downtime. In countries like Germany and the UK but also increasingly in the Netherlands, this leads to hundreds of unserviceable charging points every day.

At Voltra, we are committed to maximum uptime for our customers. That's why every charging station comes with built-in anti-theft protection. Every Voltra charging cable is equipped with our patented anti-theft technology as standard.

You don't have to opt for extra security; every model we supply proactively protects your investment:

  • 24/7 Detection & 110 dB Alarm: A unique detection wire is incorporated in the cable. At the slightest attempt to cut, pull or sabotage, the wire is interrupted and a local 110 dB alarm is immediately sounded. This prevents cable theft on your entire charging bay.
  • Instant Notification & Management: The system immediately sends a signal to the backend platform. Through the O&M interface, you can verify the situation remotely and take immediate action.
  • Maximum uptime: Because every charging station has a built-in alarm, you prevent structural damage and keep your locations operational as much as possible.
